The Institute of Neurological Sciences is based at the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital ‘superhospital’ and major trauma centre, providing adult neurosurgical and neurological care for the west of Scotland, covering a population of 2.7 million. It is linked with the paediatric Neuroscience Units at the adjacent new Royal Hospital for Children. The Institute has a longstanding reputation for excellence in research and is the site of the development of the Glasgow Coma Scale, now used in over 80 countries worldwide.
Glasgow Neuro has links with researchers and clinicians specialising in neurology and neurosurgery, both within Glasgow and nationally with the Neurosurgery Research Network, and we would be happy to put you in touch with potential supervisors if you intend to undertake an SSC block or an elective in Neurosurgery or Neurology. Please get in touch via or email address.
